Do you really want to install SunOS 4.1.x? First check out why you might prefer Solaris 2.5.

Well... if you still do:

  • Read up on booting suns diskless.
  • You'll need to configure swap for the install, and not just a token amount. 24 M is known to be enough, 4M is known not to be - independent of physical RAM."mkfile" the swap file, and export it as root to the client.
  • Initiate the install:
    • From a ">" prompt, that's done like: b net
    • ...or from an "ok" prompt, that's: boot net

Note that this procedure will always repartition, and will always use scsi target 3. It also provides a fixed amount of swap space (not the amount configured for the install!), unless you change the constants in the install script - not recommended.
