Other media forms
Other kinds of files can be served to many web browsers. It's all dependent
on how the browser is configured. A good example is a PostScript file.
If the browser has the ability to display this kind of file (as most UNIX
workstations do), an external application can be started and given the
file to display. In the case of Mosaic, this mapping of file type to
application is controlled by the .mailcap file.
