Configuring and Installing the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client VPN software
for Windows 7 / 8/ Vista/ XP

Summary: This handout is a comprehensive set of instructions to configure and install the UCI VPN software.

Getting Started

  1. Launch the VPN software install by clicking on anyconnect-win-3.0.08057.msi file

  2. Click Run on the Open File - Security Warning dialog box.

  3. Click Next in the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client Setup dialog box.

  4. Click on the radio button next to I accept the terms in the License Agreement and then click on Next button to continue

  5. Click on the Install button in the Install Software dialog box to install the software.

  6. Click on the Finish button in the diaglog box to complete the installation and exit the install.

Launching the VPN Client Connection

  1. Locate the program launch icon in Start-Programs-Cisco-Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client to launch the program.

  2. In the VPN: Ready to connect dialog box if not already present either select from the drop down menu or type in vpn.nacs.uci.edu then click on the Connect button to launch the username and password login screen

  3. Select the Group you want to connect through and enter your UCInetID and Password in the Please enter your username and password dialog box and click on the OK button

  4. Click on the Accept button in the split tunnel accept dialog box

You should now be connected to the VPN. You can verify that by looking for the connection icon in the bottom right of your screen and by mousing over the icon you should get the pop up tool tip reporting that you are connected.
