The framework for ensuring the security of electronic information at UCI is provided by University of California Policy IS-3
UCI's campus-wide IS-3 Coordinators are Assistant Vice Chancellors Mark Askren of Administrative Computing Services, and Dana Roode of Network and Academic Computing Services. An IS-3 "Area Coordinator" has also been identified for each campus division and school to facilitate local IS-3 compliance and security enhancement.
Mark Askren and Dana Roode convene two UCI security coordination groups: the Administrative IS-3 Electronic Information Security Coordination Committee and the Academic School IS-3 Electronic Information Security Coordination Committee. The first group consists of the IS-3 coordinators from each UCI division and additional campus representatives. The second group consists of the school IS-3 coordinators and a few others.
