Summary: The radio rental program provides 800MHz handheld radios to campus departments requiring radios for special events or other short term use. These radios are available for UC Irvine departments only. The radios are not to be used by individuals or entities not employed by UC Irvine.
Radios will be programmed with your department’s standard programming template unless otherwise specified. The programming rate is $60 per hour, with a one hour minimum charge. If a custom template is required the programming will be billed at $60 per hour. The radios will be fully charged, tested, and ready to operate at time of pick up.
Brian Chrisman, OIT Radio Systems Specialist, will contact the requestor to finalize the rental details. The radios will be ready for pick-up by the requestor on the date requested.
Radios must be returned to OIT at the end of the rental term. If radios are not returned, your department will be billed the daily rental fee until the radios are returned to OIT. The radios are the responsibility of the requesting department. If a radio is damaged or lost, it will be the responsibility of the requesting department to pay for repairs or replacement.
