Handheld Devices

Summary: Handheld devices are becoming more popular allowing people to connect to their calendars, email and the Internet in one small device. OIT offers limited support for these devices and the services we provide. We will continue to investigate the more popular devices and add instructions where available.

iPhone and iPod Touch

Apple's iPhone has a built in email client and Web browser allowing you to send and receive email and surf the Internet via AT&T's EDGE, 3G network or a Wi-Fi connection.

Calendar Support

iPhone currently has no method for synchronizing events between Oracle calendar and the handset. There are a few methods to copy your Oracle Calendar data to your iPhone.

Treo

Treo

Palm Inc.'s Treo smartphones run both the Palm Operating System or Windows Mobile. With data packages from wireless providers, Treos may check email and surf the Internet via the wireless networks.
