Configuring LDAP for Mail on Eudora Windows

Summary: You can use Eudora to access UCI's electronic phonebook through LDAP. Once configured you will be able to search for anyone's email address at UCI from Directory Services.

Note: UCI's LDAP service is only available on campus or through the VPN.

1. In the Eudora program, select Directory Services under the Tools menu.
   
2. In the Protocols section on the right, select LDAP. (See Figure 1)

3. Click on the "New Database" button.

4. In the Modify Database window, click on the Network tab. Fill in the following information.

   1. Name: ldap.service.uci.edu
   2. Hostname: ldap.service.uci.edu
   3. Port: 389

5. Click on the Search Options Tab.

6. In the Search Base field, type: ou=University of California Irvine,o=University of California,c=US

7. Click the OK button.

8. Make sure to check the checkbox next to the ldap service.
