Click on the Getting Started category. Fill in the following information.
| Username | Your UCInetID (i.e. qsmith) |
| Mail Server | imap.uci.edu |
| Real Name | Your name |
| SMTP Server | smtp.uci.edu |
| Return Address | Your email address |
Click on the Checking Mail category. Select the IMAP radio button. (Figure 2)

Your Internet Service Provider may be blocking other servers from sending email. This is to cut down on the spread of spam and viruses.
Option 1: Use your ISP's outgoing mail server (SMTP).
Option 2: If you use a mobile computer, you may want to use the Virtual Private Network (VPN) when sending email. This will allow you to encrypt your email and use UCI's SMTP servers.
