Alumni Email Forwarding
All UCI graduates have the opportunity to set up a permanent email
address that will forward your "UCInetID@alumni.uci.edu"
email to an address of your choice.
Please note, this is only an email
forwarding service, not an email account.
Advanced degree graduates starting Spring 2009 may
also choose to keep their
"UCInetID@UCI.EDU" email address indefinitely by setting up
a permanent email forwarding address.
(Teaching Credentials without a Master's Degree do not qualify as Advanced
Degrees due to Teaching Credentials being conferred by the State and not
UCI.)
Registering Your Email Forwarding Address
The service is provided by UCI at no cost to you. It does not
require membership in the UCI Alumni Association. It’s a great
way for you to stay connected with the university, friends and
colleagues.To set up your permanent @uci.edu or @alumni.uci.edu address, visit:
http://signup.alumni.uci.edu (UCInetID Login Required)
Enter your UCINetID and password to be directed to the e-mail
forwarding registration page.
The address you register can be an
e-mail account provided by any commercial or public e-mail service
such as gmail.com, yahoo.com, or your home Internet Service Provider.
You will retain your current UCInetID indefinitely for use in
accessing UCI services. This provides continued access to the OIT
wireless network when on the UCI campus and access to the Registrar's StudentAccess service so that
you can view your grades and transcripts.
Things to Note
- StudentAccess is only available to former students who have an active
UCInetID when they set up their permanent forwarding address.
- Students
who left the University prior to 2007 are not able to use the online
StudentAccess system.
- Your current @uci.edu address and UCI e-mail account will continue to
be available to you for one year after graduation. If you want to
transfer your @uci.edu e-mail messages, please do so during this time.
- After one year, your UCI e-mail messages will no longer be accessible.
- Other services may be added in the future.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Will I keep my current UCInetID?
- Once you sign up for forwarding, you will retain your current UCInetID indefinitely for use in accessing UCI services. You will only have access to specific applications beyond two quarters after graduating.
- Will I get to keep my OIT MailBox account?
- Yes, but only for a period of one year after you graduate. After one year, it will stop working.
- How long do I have to transition to my new forwarding address?
- Undergraduate Degree Alumni
- ONE YEAR: You have one year to transition to your new @alumni.uci.edu address. If you do nothing, your @UCI.edu email delivery will stop working when your OIT mailbox account is terminated, after one year.
- Advanced Degree Alumni
- ONE YEAR: You have one year to transition to your new forwarding address. If you do nothing, your @UCI.edu email delivery will stop working when your OIT mailbox account is terminated, after one year.
- What services will I have access to after I graduate?
- For up to two quarters, graduates will be able to access everything they have access to currently. After two quarters,
of not appearing in the student information system, you will be considered a "former student" and will only have access to applications that provide services to former students. Available services include the Registrar's StudentAccess application, access to UCI's wireless network and UCInet Mobile Access. You will also have access to the Alumni Association's Online Community application
