Firefox Plugins
The following are several Firefox plugins that we have found to be useful in updating pages to be more accessible. All of the plugins require Mozilla Firefox.
-
WebAIM WAVE Toolbar
Run WAVE reports locally, inside Firefox - no data is sent to the WAVE server, so you can easily test both secure and dynamic pages. -
ICITA Accessibility Toolbar
Easily view text equivalents, headers, etc. The most useful feature is sending the current page to the ICITA Functional Accessibility Evaluator. -
Firebug
Integrated CSS, JavaScript & HTML debugger. -
HTML Validator
Greatly helps in ensuring pages are semantically correct – this is vital to making sure that screen readers don't get confused when parsing your website.
